47 Seconds Behind the Scenes Pics

Hello friends/loved ones/bitter rivals!

Here's some pics from our "47 Seconds" sketch. Chris wrote it many months ago and it was inspired by all the inane grammatically incorrect (and very entertaining) YouTube comments we get. We waited to shoot it so we could work with the fine folks at Waverly Films and use their spacious office digs. It was Jer's idea to add the awesome opening with Chris walking through the various Waverly shoots. All in all, a great day with our filming friends!

Jeremy sets up a shot with Waverly's Christopher Ford (last seen in Sandwich of Terror 4) and Chris.

RUN!! It's Giant Jeremy!

Way of the Cardboard Warrior PRESS

So, Chris came up with this cool sketch idea inspired by a news article he saw on www.BoingBoing.net. He told me, "there's going to be a big cardboard tube battle in McCarren Park on Sunday. I thought of a sketch we could film involving it."

The plan was: we show up, we shoot, and we improvise the sketch details later in editing. No storyboards, no script. Just a general idea and a lot of fun. Sunday comes and I make a quick costume, Tom takes a bunch of photos and Chris films everything. We showed up, we filmed, I fought, and we left for brunch...

None of us expected my photo to show up in The Daily News:

or in The Gothamist:

The Cardboard Tube Fighting League was in town in Brooklyn on July 12, so Chris cooked up a loose quick sketch, Jeremy made an awesome cardboard costume, and we shot it.

En route to McCarren Park.

Originally, Jeremy was never going to participate in the cardboard fighting, but when we arrived everyone was buzzing about this unknown combatant. And in a matter of minutes, Jer was thrown into a match...which he won!

Always stretch before handling cardboard.

For some reason, the crowd referred to Jeremy as "Turtle" (okay, I can see a TMNT facial resemblance in the mask). Oddly enough, the first guy he fought looked like "Shredder."

Duel.

Fight.

Shake.

Tired...and in need of brunch.
