The Channy Awards!

The first annual Channel 101 NY Channy Awards were held on Saturday! Jess Lane took home best actress, and though she has appeared in several 101 shows this year, we're sure it's due to her appearance in Scissor Cop 4.

Here are the videos shown at the ceremony. We made the "Fake Hair" feature, the "History of 101" with Mitch Magee, a segment for the "Channy Wizard" sequence, and appeared in Stephen Levinson's "Inspiration" video. Also, Scissor Cop Kids was shown. Good times were had by all!

Behind the Scenes of The Puppet Sketch

Hello, my friends. Tom Silvestro here. Just wanted to post a few pictures of the "Get on The Winning Team" shoot. We shot in Barcade in early November.

Autumn Clark and Jeremy Westpahl made the awesome puppets (left to right: Smumbles and Sporps) and provided the puppeteering. They had previously worked their puppet magic on Puppet Rapist.

Here's Phil Pinto setting up a shot of Smumbles leaving the bar. Phil had previously helped us with shooting for Scissor Cop Episode 5 during the warehouse scene. He also had his throat viciously slashed by Verde as a Nurse in episode 6.

"Pull da strings!"

Sporps and Rick Murphy share a bonding moment before boarding the winning team.

STABBED!

Hey everyone, Jeremy Westphal here.

It's becoming quite popular these days to kill yourself on the internet so that countless others may watch. Without further ado, I give you my death:

video

This rater UNCONVINCING footage was a part of a test shoot that me and Chris Prine filmed to work out the kinks with a digital blood effect.

Here's how we did it:
We took a squeeze-bottle full of ketchup and squirted it several times while in front of a green-screen. Then, Chris keyed out the green background during editing and placed the squirts (sped up and closer together) over some footage. Watch out for shadows! Casting shadows will make your green-screen footage look like shit after the green has been keyed out.

Originally this blood effect was just going to be used in "Scissor Cop: Episode #3" when Billy stabs his eye out, but we've used it again in "Scissor Cop: Episode #5" and AGAIN in "Scissor Cop: Episode #6".

Can you see where?
